The Osprey Alley between 5th and 6th streets, next to The Haul restaurant is receiving an artistic facelift. Joseph Johnson, artist and owner of Natural Creations, has constructed 10-foot-tall metal flowers that have been strategically placed amongst the landscape that currently snakes through the paved walkway. Boulders and unique signage complement the finished project. The flower species, all native to Southern Oregon, were chosen by the Committee on Public Art’s subcommittee. “We flew past our $250,000 fundraising goal!” The Mt. Ashland Association would like to say thank you all donors to the Local Mountain Fund for helping them reach this milestone. And a special thanks to the Sid and Karen DeBoer Foundation, which matched all donations dollar-for-dollar up to $125,000! In just three weeks, they received more than $260,000 in gifts from 270 different families and organizations supporting the project. The additional funding will help support further improvements planned at Mt. Ashland in 2022.
