Looking for something fun to do that only takes an hour to get to from Grants Pass? Winter has been rough in Grants Pass, but Mt. Ashland has seen record snowfall early and often. Mt. Ashland has some great downhill runs for all skill levels; although it feels the ski resort appeals more to skiers than snowboarders. Mt. Ashland, however, has added some great terrain and obstacles for boarders this season.
It takes roughly 60 minutes to get from Grants Pass to the top of Mt. Ashland. Then when you’re done, it’s only nine miles to Callahan’s Mountain Lodge. The rustic lodge reopened about a year ago, after a hiatus due to COVID.
Callahan’s Mountain Lodge is family-owned and operated, serving Southern Oregon since 1947. Nestled below Mt. Ashland and conveniently located 11 miles from Ashland, the lodge features a popular restaurant run by the Ashland Gallery Association.
